Here is a suggestion. 

Montgomery. Then either on Friday night or Sunday, catch a Montgomery Biscuits game, they are home that weekend. Rays AA team.

While I am at it, the Biloxi Shuckers (AA team in the same league as the Biscuits) is home the Southern Miss weekend too.

If you really are looking for somewhere to stay near-ish Tuscaloosa, there's a new hotel opening on November 7, 2023 -- Hampton Inn & Suites Bessemer Birmingham. It's a 40 minute drive on I-20 West to the stadium. They aren't accepting reservations yet for that time period so they haven't sold out yet. If you really wanted to lock down a room, you can book with them quickly when available.

I used to be stationed at Camp Shelby and am familiar with the area. Even went to a USM game once. Saw them play some team called “Rice”, and they had a nice ceremony for Ray Guy at halftime. Compared to Ray Jay, their stadium sucks. However, it’s on campus, and the place had a true college game day atmosphere. Going to try and make the game if at all possible. Hope to see Bulls Nation there!

Going to make both of them with a side trip to Memphis. Can’t book them yet, but working on the golf tour.
