^^^

That's the way it works.  Henceforth, this Rice game is the most important one on the schedule.

I would love to see the students and many around Tampa fall in love with USF Football again.

Yes! Getting 2-2 and heading to Annapolis with the chance to get to 3-2 will bring much needed positive attention

Absolutely an awesome game experience and definitely helped the USF cause BUT let’s be realistic, that game and environment was because of who we were playing. Until we play known and respected opponents weekly, any carryover will likely be short lived IMO.

Also, to no one’s surprise, I don’t buy the attendance figure/sellout claims. Best turnout in may be a decade, but that third level wasn’t close to being filled. Even rows around us in 108 had plenty of open seats, and that was with no one checking tickets.

Seems a lot of people stayed in the club areas.

It is a possibility that we go right back, but it's another possibility that this team is better than last year.

That's what's oddly compelling about the Rice game.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
