Byrum Brown had 326 total yards and 3 tds. The offensive line gave him no time to throw.

This isn't true.  The offensive line was not great overall, but he missed many throws when he did have time, made some really poor decisions, and most importantly turned it over 3 times which killed us.

He ran for 160 yards (great) but 84 of those passing yards came on one play (great pass).

Not going to bury him after one game, but lets not sugar coat things and blame the o-line either.  Hopefully the offense gets in going against the Rattlers next week

Yes I agree he missed guys and was not as good as he needs to be BUT the offensive line also was not good.

I agree. We have 4 QBs because we are goning to need them this season.

Not that BB had a great game throwing just saying OL had a worse one.

Maybe the other qbs didn’t know the playbook, we re injures, or who knows. I think the coaches played the guy they thought gave us the best chance to win and he faltered a bit. They will learn from this and get better.

the coach was wrong

if the other 3 qbs didnt know the play book that is the coaches fault

the excuses for failing never end in usf land

I don't agree with the mainstream "Brown is inaccurate" take.  He was super accurate last year and maybe the best I've seen.  He was looking normal in the beginning of the game until the chaos of the 2nd QTR.  I have no idea what we were thinking on 3-4 series in a row in the 2nd.

Anyway around that time I noticed USF getting swarmed at the line because we were turtling on the constant runs up the middle including in long down situations (dumb).  They looked frantic and a bit confused to me.

It also seemed like at times the team was confused by the extreme tempo.  BTW, I'm impressed by the tempo because when it clicks it's going to work.

Maybe if the argument is that Brown is not the best QB while we are working out the kinks of the offense, I guess?  GB would maybe be calmer under chaos because he has that temperament.  But I don't get all the takes on Brown at the moment.  We might need to knock the rust off and then he will be rolling once more.

The simple answer to Steve’s question is that you carry 4 QB’s because you could be in a situation like we had last season.
