What if players could only pick uniforms after a win?

Uniforms are a part of a school’s branding - and should be consistent, just like all branding. When we wear 12 different uniforms for 12 games, it doesn’t help us, no matter what the kids think.

Could be interesting, but would we end up repeating the same jerseys? Players can be a superstitious lot.

Each jersey gives the opposing fan base a chance to confuse us with another school. That way they won’t be able to identify us years later. It’s a big brain play

This.  Or at least the helmet.  You wear the school pride normal gold helmet.  You win, and you choose.  If you choose the gold helmet every time, that's ok, too.  I really don't care if they are winning.

Nothing scientific about it, but we won A LOT more before we started wearing all these different uniform/helmet combinations. And if it’s so important to the players, maybe we have players with the wrong priorities. Yes, I am an old man.

Coach even said we will be back to our green and gold and then this combo shows up. Love that helmet Dave showed.

No, those priorities check out. Competitive athletes should be more concerned with winning than with attire. It’s a game not a pageant. The field is not a runway. The team should be focused on winning, not being best dressed. Have you ever heard a commentator say anything like, “that team lost badly, but at least they looked good doing it”? If you ever hear that that person should be reprimanded or fired, and that sport needs to recalibrate or fold.

It's the best.  I think I had that photo as my avatar last year before all the USF fans went to the Doomer age.
