They seem more nervous than i'd have expected, sounds like their defense has a lot of question marks. Also their coach has never really had an impressive opener, hopefully that continues...

2019: Lost 35-28 to FCS Central Arkansas

2020: Lost 35-21 to Louisville

2021: Beat FCS UT-Martin 56-21, but were only up 28-14 at halftime

2022: Beat FCS Austin Peay 38-27, but were only up 21-20 entering the 4th quarter

I didn't think  it was possible  for any defense to have as many question marks and low performance expectations as usf.

Good to know...talent wise we have same if not more then WKU as a team I believe. So this isn't like an FBS opener like Wisconsin or NC State or ND at all.

One game will be tough to judge. Hopefully USF looks better but it will be tough on the road

We have no idea on coaches nor players since so many are new. So it will be a huge question mark until we see them on the field.

Im hoping to see better play specially defensively and that we pull out a win.

But that just me, I expect to win every games, that’s why the last three years have been horrific

They have a very successful  high scoring offense with a lot of returning players.  We should be ae to tell by the end of the game If there is any coaching  and player improvement on defense  win or lose. If we get touched for 49+ we are In for a long season.  They better not score on the first touch again.Luckily it means nothing for conference  play. If we don't go 0.500 In the new acc and weak conference opponents this year I think we made the wrong hire. If we lose to fau we definitely hired the wrong coach  . If we  have some success in conference play and beat fau then I can say we are at least trending up. After six games we will at least have the eye test and stats  to evaluate any real improvement.
