I am just kidding (John knows that, but just so no one else thinks I am calling him out)

. I used to have a personal policy that I stopped counting once I got to 9 on any hole.

A long time ago, the athletic ticket sales staff on occasion would start a round right after work and play until it got too dark, usually got in about 14/15 holes.

I have the playing partners who will attest. Also, this happened before I graduated and when I played on a consistent basis.

Just saw your follow up post. LOL

You need to keep reading, I backed down on my next post :)

And, if you remember me out there hitting balls in lakes, you know I don't have any room to criticize anyone's golf game.

"I'll hit it over the water" always turned into "I'll drop on the other side of the water" after I lost a ball or two.

I remember meeting with @MikeG@E.T. and others at Rocky's when we created the "12th Bull Club", which morphed into the Bullbackers.  Loved the grassroots excitement for the team!

The single greatest shot I've ever hit actually came on the approach on hole number 9 at the Claw. I'm what you would call ... a terrible golfer. So anyway, I hit this shot I was trying to chip onto the green, the ball went straight up in the air, landed 6 inches behind me and rolled to the exact spot from which I hit it. I legit couldn't do it again if I wanted to.

I hit "The Claw" twice.  For those of you who don't know, the USF golf course was nicknamed "The Claw", because there was a claw shaped branch that hung out over the number 14 fairway.  It may still be there for all I know.  Two of my best ever 3 wood shots from the #14 tee box met their demise due to "The Claw".  I think they both dropped down and rolled into the swamp.

Seems oddly like my memory from that course.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
