Both Anderson's and May's stock just skyrocketed.  Will be interesting to see who they both get offers from.  Hope we're in the mix.

I think and I hope there’s so much more to this than just picking somebody that won in an NCAA Tourn upset.  USF has its own characteristics, its own situation and typical type of recruit based on everything in the dynamic - conference, location, history, community support, etc. . We need to find somebody that can take what we have and make it the greatest it can be. That will take a hell of a lot more thought or it’s just another roll of the dice.

Not gonna happen but, if I was going for to pursue one of the Ricks, he would be my preference.  Plays the kind of basketball I would love to see at USF.   That win over Duke was clutch.

And he is a Hickory native.

And what is funny is I do believe Seth Greenberg’s USF team beat Barnes Texas team many years ago in the SunDome. Sure I believe we lost the on our return trip to Texas but it goes to show you how much better USF hoops was back then

Don’t be fooled by the new, shiny object - a guy who has the surprise tournament run and suddenly is a coaching genius.

Obviously we agree on this but how do you incorporate that into a coaching search ..... look for somebody that's had success going into a similar type environment, an environment kind of unique to begin with? This is why I'm not sure how even a hell of a lot more thought doesn't still make this a roll of the dice ....

Let’s take a look at the coaches of the top 10 Cinderella teams ever in the tournament and see how they fared:

10. 2002 Kent State - Stan Heath (we know this guy’s path)

9. 2014 Dayton - Archie Miller, failed at Indiana and was fired. Now at Rhode Island

8. 1990 Loyola Marymount - Paul Westhead, journeyman NBA coach, took another college job at George Mason and went 38-70 before being fired

7. 1999 Gonzaga - Dan Monson, 1 NCAA Tournament in 9 seasons at Minnesota and was fired. Now at Long Beach State

6. 2008 Davidson - Bob McKillop, career coach at Davidson

5. 2022 St. Peters - Shaheen Holloway, 17-15 and NIT in his first year at Seton Hall

4. 1979 Penn - Bob Weinhauer, fired after three seasons at Arizona State

3. 2011 VCU - Shaka Smart, fired after 6 seasons at Texas, now at Marquette

2. 2013 Wichita State - Gregg Marshall, fired after allegations of misconduct

1. 2006 George Mason - Jim Larranaga, good work at Miami

I'd take Stan Heath, Archie Miller, Shaka Smart, Gregg Marshall, or Jim Larranaga in a heartbeat
