The ocs could be a  great addition but it is a lot of debt to take on for a football program with one fbs win in the last three years. I don't think it will sell out in the new aac If the program is anywhere close to it's  current state the doormat of fbs football and the American conference.

2004 - c went 0-11 their last year in the MAC (-> CUSA)

2005 - c approved their stadium to be built

2007 - c opened stadium

2013 - c won Fiesta Bowl

2017 - c won Peach Bowl

2023 - c starts in B12

Which comes first - the chicken or the egg? Success or investment? Not often you can have your cake and eat it too. USF is long overdue this investment in football and athletics as a whole. Criminally overdue. We did not act when the program was winning; we owe it to ourselves to act now.

USF needs to build an OCS. Period...

Best to invest in the program now, or just give it all up.

They also hired 3 coaches that did well there in a row that ran offensive systems. The have a system in place and they find players and coaches to fit it. We keep changing from defensive coach with success here,  to  skip not sure if he was an offensive or defensive coach hat won some big games then nosedived the program,  to an offensive coach that found some success cashed in big and failed every where else, then defensive coach that had some success and went downhill, to elite offensive minded coach that was a complete bust,  and to another up and coming young offensive coach. A stadium doesn't mean full crowds or wins if you can't find a coach that can win and recruit.

2004 -  A Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award Winner fell into their lap

99% of the college football programs in this country have an ocs so why aren't they all as successful as the Kanigits? I'm all for getting the ocs done now but we need to stop using that as an excuse for us being where we are now. CJL and CSH didn't build off that 2007 run for whatever reasons you want to throw out there, but lack of an ocs isn't one of them.

He didn't fall into their lap ... they hired him.  It was part of the overall investment in the program .. an investment that included building an OCS

Firing Leavitt was the start of the downfall yes, but no other coach hired has has any lasting success. We keep changing coaching styles and schemes. I am not against an OCs but I think the mission should be focused more on winning then expecting the OCS to turn USF into a winner.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
