It would be so USF if the 15th option as coach who is getting roasted by the fan base turns out to very good.

Yep.  We should never hire a coordinator, like Leavitt was.  That never works out.

🤦‍♂️

be careful here, your treading awfully close to sacred ground .. some folks around here don't like when facts get throw around.  We're not allowed to point out the successful coordinators who became HC's with no experience ..... only XCJS comparisons permitted

Fingers crossed!  There's no reason for him to fail here.

Or you could consider none of this happens in a vaccum.

Leavitt was a Co-DC from a now P5 program becoming the first coach at an upstart DI-AA Independent program.  The well was full of hope, not disaster.

Completely different scenario.   Carry on.

except Leavitt's only one example and your right none of this happens in a vacuum so the only real thing to do is see of Golesh 1.0 can build on the positives that are here or not.

But it was Leavitt or bust.  Carry on

I'm all for giving him a chance but if we start off 0-6 or 1-5 this year we can start roasting him. The new aac is a lot weaker . Utsa seems to be solid but I think they are losing their qb .

I think the new AAC will be tough if not tougher moving forward. UTSA & UAB will absolutely roll USF. Tulane beat the Big 12 champ earlier this season.

You got that right.

And you got that wrong.

Yup! Especially now with that playoff spot on the line. Gonna be tougher then ever before.

Its not that a coordinator can't work out; surely it happens all the time. To me its about is this the safe pick in our circumstances. I think with realignment, and our 1 conference win in 3 years; it would have been better for us to have hired someone with HC experience; instead having someone with a steep learning curve and training wheels. Especially we cant afford a 3 year plan; we need to be  better sooner then later.

But I hope I am wrong, and it is possible that it all works out
