Yea, that response was a little much. Look at it this way, you get a job, get paid, and find (what you believe) is a better opportunity in a competitor and leave to pursue that opportunity. No harm no foul in that decision.

My initial reaction was to be pissed about his transferring, especially to that school. The more I think about it, why should his decision about his life matter to any one on this board?

Let’s look at it this way, Golesh is here and Scott et al is out. There is going to be attrition and we were a bad team in a middling conference. Maybe there are people that were in the 3rd or 4th spot that will make a better impact?

It still literally does not affect our lives. Next man up, right?

It's not what he did rather how he did it that's rubbed people the wrong way.

From my understanding, money was exchanged with the expectation there would be some level of fan interaction. No fan interaction was provided and therefore he accepted payment without holding up his end of the deal.

That's not accurate, but it's also not worth arguing about.  There was no agreement to have fan interaction on the board, he did that voluntarily.  He did meet other parts of the deal only coming up short on number of tweets, which I waived as fans became more vicious.

He did leave and poke a few Bulls in the eye going to UCF.

But people here tell me its perfectly fine for Golesh to leave for P5.  Everything given a coach is being extended to players, a real proletariat revolution, so why shouldn't Grier be able to go?

Yea it sucks, but he doesn’t owe the fans or University anything. It’s not like he signed a contract saying ‘I am here for the full length of my college football career’.

People volunteered to pay him. He had a rough year the year people elected to pay him.

Valid and fair points.

True but this is a USF board.  I mean I don't talk about it at work for example.  Those talks are reserved for more generic topics:

  • How is the weather?
  • What did you do this weekend?
  • Did you hear about so and so?

If Golesh left for ucf I'd feel the same way.

I think most fans would feel the same way.
