I also can't find any source that repudiates his "most powerful man in the building" statement. Dude probably thought he was untouchable at that point in his career, and some on here probably agree.

I don't see this type of comment and bravado as horrible as others do.  The guy built the thing from the ground up.  Got out over his skis and played it wrong.  Aka a human.

**EDIT** Oh and now I am seeing this maybe never happened.  So even less of a problem.

When would these people be saying that happened?  And was it an olive branch to be used for something other than coaching?

I know there was no olive branch extended last go round.  Leavitt hoped for a call.  Nothing at all.  I'm not trying to sound like an insider or someone with sources so that more people will follow me.  I'm telling you the facts.  If they reached out between Scott's firing and today, they might have gotten hold of him at the Bucs game.  :)

Thank  you for the insider information. I think his posting and a few people I know close to the program said he maybe interested  this time around.

This is why it would be nice if someone said something out loud to at least bury the hatchet and do something together.  There has to be something that would work.

I was off and on around in the Judy/Dougie years.  What the hell was I missing during that time?  Judy was out there glad-handing right next to Lee Roy, flying to and fro on the Gonzmarts jet (am I making that up?), and generally seemed to like how the program complemented the school and getting more of the community and alumni base involved (and writing checks).

Now maybe I was totally wrong on that and simply read it wrong.  There was a bit of a cockfight with Leavitt who simply was never a joy to be around.  I know that.  He coached football and ducked any real questions at pressers.  He was hoodie-less Bill Bellicheck who liked to lose conference titles rather than win them but he generally had us moving in the direction we needed to move in.  Grads/alum need something to bind them to the school and Judy seemed in on the deal.  What the hell went south?

I get some academic strides have been made but the two didn't have to be mutually exclusive?  What set fire to the whole **** thing which is literally what Doug, Judy and our boy McMurphy did.

What about long time politician that has said crazy stuff for 40 years and can't read off of a teleprompter? I hear he will be on the way out shortly and will be looking for work.

Hey, he had it right.  He needed backup to complete that mission.
