If Jeff Scott can pull in a top 50 class, then he give him another year. Our 2014 class which contained Q, was ranked in the mid 40's & let to our best team ever in 2017, arguably (even with Strong squandering it). He has to let Shoop go though. Former NFL coordinators do not translate well to college. For him to constantly complain about missed assignments while not simplifying the defense shows it. He had had a year & the players are consistently out of position. Let Ernie Sims call the plays, or bring in an up and comer with some fire. Now, I'm ready for the firing squad... 1

This is the dilemma, if we know the defense is basically a non factor, is it throwing more bodies at the situation and switching DC? If so you wouldn't need a new HC to do that. But how does one know?

I agree it has always come down to recruiting however CWT landed that class in his first complete recruiting cycle while he was full of piss and vigor selling a vision. This would be CJS’s third complete cycle showing one win in FBS and essentially be a dead man walking, his recruiting like his coaching stinks and that is the reason we are where we are. USF can't wait any longer. Honestly he should have been fired before the bye week. We are in a position in which 99% of schools would fire the coach. We can't pin the programs future on Scott being able to recruit as a lame duck. 1

We are at rock bottom here (though no doubt we will find a way to dig deeper against SMU and UCF). You're prolonging the inevitable by keeping him around, and pissing off the diehards that are honestly the only fans left because USF is not even an afterthought in college football. As to your example, when we fixed the Holtz mistake we got CWT, which worked out pretty good for us.
