I would not mind the losses but it’s the way we lose and the pattern has continued with Scott. He gets no pass.

We've played 7 games. 4 haven't been a blowout (if you think Tulane was, you're basically just a blind hater but not alone)............. A loss is still a loss but again, people making up stuff. He said we woulda been 3-2 and everyone would have said "oh we turned the corner", but the team still would have had problems with fundamentals under the surface. That was the honesty we didn't see from Charlie "We were 7-0" Strong. Undefeated against the easy part of the schedule with a lot of problems underneath - hence the six straight losses to end the season in 2018.

Also, they gameplanned for our offense very well, and put all of the heavy lifting on our defense to make a stop. We were always supposed to be 1-3 coming into conference play. I really thought once we hit conference play that we would really see what progress we made. The injuries really flipped that notion on its head, which is unfortunate. Correct, most people expected USF to lose it's FBS OOC games and enter conference play at 1-3 However, those first three conference games - ECU, Cincinnati and Tulane - may turn out to be the top three teams in the AAC. Going into the year, I thought ECU might have taken a step back and Tulane would not be quite as far forward, so I thought those to be winnable. Going into the year, the Vegas odds makers pegged the over/under for USF wins at 4.5 based on the strength of schedule ... That is still a possibility. Temple, Tulane, and SMU (all sub .500 for the season) are completely beatable - even for an injury-riddled team like USF. This USF team, as it stands now with the players available, is on pare with those three teams. UCF and and Houston are perhaps bookend games to make or break that over/under. USF's history always had: A win in a game they should not have won; and a loss in a game they should not have lost. The past four and a half seasons have not seen any of the former, and way to many of the latter. I hope this team can pull a rabbit out of the hat and win four out of the five remaining games in the "second half" of the season. Massey had GT finishing the season as the 45th team in the nation and the hardest game on the schedule sans UCF, that was in the 7 winning games. Illinois was 89th and a win while Houston and Tulane were 75th and 78th, the difference between those is nominal and if we beat Houston or Tulane and lost to Illinois their rankings would be reversed. It really is not as simple as we started off with the easy teams and then lost to the better teams unless the only thing defining that is whether or not we lost to them. No sarcasm but how can we acknowledge something exists and not make it feel like we are excusing/overlooking his record? That's why the question was more "Does SoS matter to recruits?" Again, SoS is subjective and might not have much value, but our rivals to the East have the 88th ranked schedule and are 5-2 and we have the, now, 27th ranked schedule and are 1-6. We have played two mutual opponents, which were losses for them and us. 1
