When you score 3 points against Louisville  and 14 points against byu in garbage time you can't blame the defense ? We have an offensive  coach that can't develop talent or make a game plan to score enough to even be competitive  in fbs football.

Maybe, but the defense is completely hopeless. I'd like to see what the offense could do if the defense could actually keep us in a game for a couple of quarters (see: UF). There's plenty of blame to go around, but it's rare to see a defense as bad as ours the past two seasons. If your offensive gameplan has to be "We have to score 40+ every week to be in the game" that's a losing proposition.

If the offense was competent they could drive the ball and give the defense a break. Maybe even score some points when it matters. If the defense is on the field all game and just getting down by more points because the offense cant strike back, what else can they do? The defense can't be in the field for the majority of the game without scoring support and expect to keep it close. Charlie's teams were struggling at the end but the offense scored more and the defense was better than this...

We can go round and round. If the offense is at full strength with Weaver, Horn, Mangham, Joiner, they have a chance to stay on the field. The defense - at full strength - has no chance to get off the field.

I think Paul Griffin is still there so here's another mistake by Ga Tech ....

Sounds like they fired the AD (that was CLOSELY aligned with the head coach).

I'm not even sure Paul Griffin works there in any capacity currently.

So what about having the worse passing stats in college football? The defense can't be the only side of the ball on the field and expect to compete. The defense has lots of holes and a big part is the offense can not drive the ball in 2 of the 4 games. If you noticed in Howard and uf game the defense stepped up when the offense kept the scores in the game. We beat Howard on talent alone and had a shot to takedown uf with the refs and some costly turnovers from Weaver and Gerry.  That was the one game I can say the coaches had a good gameplan  in 2.25 seasons. We beat temple last year on talent and Jeff Scott got their coach fired yet he did better than jeff scott overall.

But it does touch on what I said in another thread.

ASU AD chopped off HC Herm's head to save his own.

Ga Tech AD was going to ride it out with the failing coach.  He got canned along with the coach.

My post was strictly dealing with PG still being there but not getting the interim tag ...... don't be trying to drag me into your other nefarious conversations.
