That's an expensive novelty. If he's on MBB scholarship, by rule, he becomes a full football scholarship once he's on the roster. Do we have the space give a scholarship out to a guy just for the FG unit?

Is there any word on if he's actually joining the team or just practicing? In high school some guys on the basketball team would workout with the football team in the spring for a strength/condition advantage. Could see a post player wanting to get more physical. Granted Jimmy Graham and Antonio Gates combined for 8 years of college basketball and 1 year of college football. So there is a track record of guys making that crossover and their athleticism being lethal.

Im sure with his veetical, he can probably bat down a few QB throws as well. Im sure he had to actually "tried out" for the team and impressed them enough to give him an opportunity. Basketball requires a lot of conditioning, so Im sure he will be ready by fall.

One player with a legit chance to keep points off the board on a single play...Hmmm, well if we had a roster full of 5 stars I'd be concerned about scholarship spots, but when you win 1 game a year, I'm fine 'buying a lotto ticket' when the upside is an exciting, momentum shifting play. Besides we had an athletic freak at defensive end back in 09 and it worked out for us. Maybe this kid can surprise everyone and play D too.
