I've said this before... transfer one time and I give you the benefit of the doubt, after that, there's a common denominator.

Agreed

Not surprised about McCreary, there’s a few more that should go. But agree if any of those leaving are: Murphy, Tchewa or Walker then really you need to question Gregory’s future at USF

gregory's future is secure

he just signed an extension

His buyout did not increase. Let him have another horrible season and fans stop going to games and you’ll see how secure his job really is.

I root for USF and do hope he turns it around, but I won’t spend one penny nor go to games until I see improvements or he is gone. There are many more doing the same. A completely empty Sun Dome while a single digit win team struggles through another season of horrible basketball, will eventually lead to change.

I said it before and I'll say it again.  Either Brian Gregory goes or we go.  One of us is leaving before next season and will NEVER come back.  Why should I pay money to watch a $h1t show?  We can stay home and watch that for free as I flush the toilet.  And don't even get me started on USF's perceived need to waste money building a football stadium.  In 10 years there will be some school somewhere that uses USF as an example of what NOT to do in a sports marketing, sports management, sports "something" class.  So many of the "WRONG" moves have been obvious but USF has made them anyway.  Like extending BG's contract.  Why?  What did USF have to gain by extending him or lose if he jumped ship?  And with his record at the time he signed the extension, where would he go?  Just who the hell did they think just had to have BG and was going to steal him away?

Honestly, the best thing that could happen to USF is to FIRE BG.  The second best thing is if most of the players transferred out.  USF was LAST in D1 shooting percentage.  The players can't shoot.  Another year of being mismanaged by a below average coach is NOT going to change that.  Watch the pregame shoot around when no one is guarding them.  They can't make their shots.  During several games this year I kept track of the made/miss ratio for USF while someone else tracked the visiting team during pregame warmups.  It wasn't even close.  We are losing games before they even start because our players can't make their shots when they are wide open and uncontested.  My nephew coaches college basketball (and made the tourney again this year).  He's the one that turned me on to the pregame shoot around stat.  Don't count any shot taken in the paint including dunks and layups and don't count shots that are missed because two balls collided.  Also, keep track separately of legitimate 3 point shots if possible.  (Don't count someone heaving shots from half court just for fun).  The made/miss ratio is very accurate in determining the winner/loser.  It doesn't factor in "the spread" so it's not helpful with gambling.  It also does not reflect a team's ability to play defense or press which is where it's weakness lies when it's wrong.  I accurately predicted the outcome of every game I attended this past season except for 3 based on this one stat.  But then again, you could have predicted that USF was going to lose EVERY GAME and be right 74% of the time.  How sad is that?

Agree with the MBB analogy, disagree vehemently with the stadium take.  This is exactly what is needed to make this University relevant and less a commuter school.  The University will prosper and flourish as we perform tours and Saturday is buzzing with activity.  Would be nice if we started to win more than a game or two a year though.

Agree. The two situations are different. For many years USF’s facilities were below par and that has to be fixed. In football an OCS and IPF were needed in order to compete and attract coaches and players. Basketball has good enough facilities to compete and is failing and there doesn’t seem to be a change under current leadership.

The facilities are not the problem in basketball it’s the coaching. Football has been in dire need for the IPF for years and is finally getting it. The OCS would also help but it would be a short term fix at best if we keep producing teams with only 1-4 wins so at some point coaches have to establish a program that goes bowling every year and wins a few conference championships if we want to get the most out of an ocs

Yes but having an OCS and IPF will make it easier to recruit a new coach 2hen needed.
