What a laugh!   This is ridiculous.  Media with conflicting reports about teams coming and going, posted within hours.   Nobody knows.

I'm being told now that each conference commissioner will be allowed to pick 2 names out of a hat and invite those schools.

The Texas/OK/KS corridor is one UCF would already have to travel to in the AAC. Adding 3 trips (BYU, AZ, CU) that are an hour to an hour and a half longer isn't back breaking. Especially since some of the smaller sports do a meet at a single location and not road/home games everywhere.

Your buddy's son had all that travel but we're not comparing student athletes vs regular students, we're comparing the travel schedule in the AAC vs the Big 12. Again, the AAC is already spread out and has half the conference in the same part of the country that the Big 12 does. So not a lot changes.

your road football schedule last year

FAU 190 mi

ECU 642 mi

Memphis 826 mi

Tulane 655 mi

USF 98 mi

Tulane

your closest game this year is cincy at 913 m

that's just football.

there is a huge difference in travel.

If Arizona,Arizona, and Colorado all leave the pac12 they just trimmed the fat and got rid all 3/5 of their bottom feeding teams over the last few seasons. Would the TV deal pay out more to the schools remaining or less? Utah, Oregon, and Washington all have been good over the last decade. So those are the three schools that I would be most worried about leaving not the bottom of the pac12.

what's funny is that when all this gets worked out, schools will just earn whatever they can generate individually  in subscriber fees (+ advertising).

maybe we should just see if the saudi's want a college football team(league).

I think that is the future. Every conference and team will have an app. You can pay for only your team and or the conference plan which streams all the  conference games. If we are still in the AAC , I know which route I am going....

I heard Notre Dame is trying get everyone to join them as independents (which, BTW, is pretty much where we are these days).
