IMHO  - When the dust settles, I think there will be 4 power conferences with 16 teams (+1 - ND) ... so only 10 spots will be available.

We are the team of the week.  It's a lock.  We are in the Big-12.

How funny is it that after all this time we are one of the last teams standing from being barely mentioned?

I'm not saying this article or blog means anything just that after all the hype for some of the other schools in that list we are peaking at the right moment.

I thought this as well. Probably means as much as the earlier mentions of other teams - nothing - but it's still better than the alternative (no mentions).

TX and OK are the only things keeping the B12 in the P5.

When they leave (and they will), the B12 will fold up like wet cardboard, and once again, we will be on the outside.

In the meantime, is it better to have winning records in the AAC and establish our name as a giant-killer again, or losing records in the B12, and be forgotten like WVU?

AAC > B12 in every respect but money. If we chase the money, we WILL regret it, since it will not last more than a couple years at best.

Curious, Would they leave before the contract is up? If not, there's still nine years to collect $$$$$$$$.

Is there anything in the contract about losing UT or OK? Or any other of the original members?

ND will be ACC when the dust settles

BYU will be G5 or P12

They will when the P12 or SEC give them an actionable invitation

Yeah it's funny how we were not on the radar at all and now Cincy is a dumpster fire. Meanwhile, I doubt anything has changed in the minds of the people with votes.

The Big 12 is better than the AAC even without Texas and Oklahoma. Baylor, WVU and Oklahoma State would likely win the AAC and Kansas' basketball team is superior to any team in our conference.

And TCU...  The AAC is nowhere near close to the B12 top to bottom.

Look for the top teams from AAC & Big 12 to join for a new conference.

My comment is that the B12 is G5 without TX and OK. And there's not all that much RPI difference really, but when you look at the types of schools involved, the B12 is full of rural, land-grant schools, and the AAC is full of modern urban schools. B12 is past, AAC is future

If we're going to be stuck in the G5, would you rather be stuck with the current B12 schools (minus TX and OK), or stuck with the current AAC schools?

I say we stay in the AAC until the 4x16 realignment and make our jump then. Probably easier to jump into the 64 from AAC than B12. Iowa State, KU, K-state, and TT won't get invites, so that opens up a total of 14 slots. TX, OK, ND, plus TCU, BU, WVU, OKSt take 7, leaving 7 slots or so for current G5 schools
