Here is a blog by Navigate, the firm hired by both the B12 (and UCF) to evaluate expansion options

5 points to judge expansion candidates, after financial gains are determined.

) Yes. I do. If USF goes undefeated this year they will absolutely make the playoff.

No way. Sorry, but that's not going to happen. Any non-P5 school would likely need two undefeated seasons back-to-back to get in.

I'm starting to think it might be best if Big 12 took BYU and Colorado St. and left our conference alone. AAC has potential if it doesn't get raided.

I don't really see a version of this where they don't take Cinci.

Not sure this can be conspired a money grab, as each Big 12 school would have one-fourteenth of a larger pie that would equate to the same TV revenue annually for each school, unless the Big 12 takes that entire pie and gives less to the four newer schools for a few years.

Seems like it's still important to get the right schools in to grow your conference and keep your TV partners happy.

Exactly why there is supposedly push back from the networks. The conference is not listening to the feedback from their network partners.

Any new schools will not receive an equal share for many years.  The majority of the new money goes to the existing schools.

This scenario would lend credence to the Houston-Memphis rumors.  Satisfy Texas and TTU's political and expansion agendas, conference receives the Fedex cash plus network money while networks are left holding the bag.

Who knows what is going on behind the scenes, but after what happened with Pitt during Big East tv negotations nothing surprises me

We'd have to feel good about 4 of the 5.

That article was written by a UCF fan.   Clearly, USF in the Big East created some great buzz for the Big East especially when USF beat WVA and ended up at #2 in the nation.   Games sold out a Raymond James.

Good point about the buzz USF helped to create about the Big East. We were involved in several nationally televised dramatic, highly viewed games. Most of them we won.

WVU, Kansas 2008, Auburn, ND, Cincy (sunday night game I think 2007) and Rutgers.

All of those games were highly rated.  We have proven we can draw attention and attendance.

Sorry, but Aresco just said that if USF beats FSU and has a great season they should get into the playoffs.

Not sure we'd get in even if we beat FSU, but how awesome would a season like that be - if it were an actual issue?
