Big America (or Big American) was my favorite of those mentioned. American Metro makes sense, but would prefer something a TAD more in your face.

I still prefer Big City Conference but I don't hate American Metro as much as you guys. It helps to get us near the top of conference lists, and still captures the "city" motif.

I hope they settle on American Athletic Conference. AAC gets us first on every alphabetical list

I'm not looking forward to the inevitable comparisons to the 25-year obsolete auto company. But I say if that's the name, we go all the way - every school renames their mascots to the Ramblers, Matadors, Gremlins, etc. Then when the conference eventually dies, we may have some collector value to someone who likes antiques.
