Let's give some major respect and props to CJF for having the ONLY non-P5 team (not named UCONN) in America ranked in the preseason top 25. What he has done here at USF is nothing short of amazing. I hope they put in the work this season and pull off a couple of upsets with the challenging non-conference slate. Any more than 1 loss in conference is unacceptable as well and the expectation really should be for an undefeated conference slate. If they can't spring one or two upsets in non-conference play, then expect another 7 to 9 seed in the tournament. The key is to avoid the dreaded 8/9 seed. Virtually no chance for an upset given the strength of the top 5 teams in the country.

Considering no other "Mid-Major" sniffed the top 25, I'm not that surprised. We are constantly under ranked in the NCAA tournament, making a deep run almost impossible. Hopefully we spring a few upsets this season and get a top 4 seed. At this point, I will settle a 6 seed or better. Looking at the schedule, I see the most likely non-conference outcome being 10-4. Running the table in the AAC would put them at 29-4 entering the tournament. Allowing for one in-conference loss, they would be 28-5. Have to beat West Virginia and take another one against a team like Oregon or Tennessee that we aren't expected to win. Excited for this season.
