Agree that losing plays a part but we only drew 26K for a Thursday night game in 2017 with an 8-1 record and one of the most dynamic players in our history. I’d also argue more than half of the fan base was pared by then. 27K out of probably 30K is good. If you were expecting a WVU-like attendance, those days are gone (for now). But we need to move on. Besides, I don’t think a lower attendance on a Thursday night game indicates much of anything. Many people don’t find that a good day for tailgating, getting out of work or staying out late. We’re never going to have mind control over Bulls fans to convince them a Thursday is like a Saturday. That’s probably true of most programs. I don't think it's mind control but more a matter of logistics .... and you're probably right about most programs.

I would probably have been there too, but sometimes life gets in the way and it seems a little presumptuous to chastise those that did not go to the game if you didn’t, that is all I am saying. So because I live 1300 miles and spend a few grand a year going to away games, I can’t criticize those “fans” who could not come out on a Thursday to thank one of the greatest players ever in our program? Get the **** out of here with that nonsense.

The important part is many will not. For them, Tulsa on a Saturday? Maybe. Probably. Thursday, more iffy. USF doesn’t have a 65-500K fan base clamoring for tickets regardless of opponent. I think attendance on Thursdays is more related to day of week than the opponent. And it’s very rare a decent opponent would be playing the Bulls on a Thursday. Tulsa and Thursday combined? May not be worth the trouble and bed times with the kids. I would not advocate for no Thursday games, but I’d give the casual fan a break on this one. It’s not a football day.
