You know according to O'Leary's resume, he never actually lost to USF.

And Mike Bia-beeetch, good to know he's still top clown at the Sentinel, so I never give them my money.

As for McMurphy, well as the saying goes, that can't do, tweet.

The Big 12 is not exactly in a strong position.  They are grasping at straws to keep the other P5 schools from kicking them out.  They look just like Big East football at the end where they were reaching for programs just to stay alive.

UCF just got hot a the right time and USF sat around and made stupid coaching hires like Strong.

It’s really sort of simple reporting and a little bit boring, but get through the UCF part and get to Brett McMurphy’s comments.  I don’t know how people still defend him to this day.  Written by UCF’s biggest cheerleader, Mike Bianchi. Wish we had one.

That pasty white, fat **** has a ton of nerves talking about someone getting what they deserve ...

After 5,575 days, Devaughn Darling can now presumably rest in peace.

He died Feb. 21, 2001, during offseason football drills at Florida State. On Friday, Gov. Rick Scott signed a bill that allowed his family to receive the $1.8 settlement it had long fought for.

The thing is, FSU gave up the fight years ago. It supported the Darling family's quest through the legislative swamp.

That brings us to Ereck Plancher. He died March 18, 2008, during offseason football drills at UCF.

From that day forward UCF has fought the Planchers. Legally, the school's appeals have often been on solid ground.

But there is doing what's legal and doing what's right. In the wake of the Darling family finally getting relief, you wish Enock and Giselle Plancher could have the same feeling.

"All they've done is delayed, delayed, delayed," Steve Yerrid said of UCF.

He's one of the Plancher family's attorneys, so he's supposed to cast UCF as the villain. Whether you agree with him or not, one thing stands out.

A jury found UCF liable in Plancher's death and awarded the family $10 million. Like Darling, he collapsed during a vomit-inducing workout.

Both players had sickle-cell trait, which makes people vulnerable during extreme exertion. The jury determined that the UCF staff didn't react properly when Plancher started staggering and gasping his last breaths.

"It is difficult to comprehend how one human being can ignore another in obvious distress or prevent someone else from offering aid to one in distress, but, inexplicably, th

at is what happened here."

Judge Wendy Berger wrote that when UCF appealed the verdict to the Fifth District Court of Appeal. Unlike FSU and Darling, the sides did not reach a pre-trial settlement.

The case wound its way to the Florida Supreme Court two years ago. It said the Planchers were indeed owed $10 million, but it ruled the UCF Athletics Association should be treated like a state agency.

That meant jury judgments against it must be capped at $200,000 under Florida's sovereign immunity rule. Any judgment above that amount must be approved by the

Legislature and signed by the governor. It prevents state institutions like public universities and school districts from going bankrupt over a lawsuit.

The court also ruled that UCF's insurance company, Great American Assurance, was not liable to pay anything in excess of the $200,000 sovereign immunity limit.

The only way to get the full award is if the Florida Legislature passes a "claim" bill. That typically requires moving all the heaven and earth in Tallahassee.

If you're exhausted trying to keep up with all this, imagine how the Planchers feel.

"How do you think any family would feel after a jury determined a university allowed a family member to die in an egregious fashion," Yerrid said, "and now they've fought that for 10 years?"

The next round is later this month when the original trial verdict will be re-entered in an Orange County courtroom.

Yerrid said the Plancher family tried to settle for $4 million long ago, but the offer was refused. UCF has largely withheld comment throughout the affair and did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday.

Yerrid said the school didn't pay the $200,000 claim until a few months ago. It is obviously determined to never pay another dime.

Is that justice for the death of a son?

Barring a settlement, this will end up in the Legislature. It took a decade for Darling's bill to get just a committee hearing. It didn't make it to a vote until this year.

"It is something we have been looking forward to for a long time," said Devard Darling, Devaughn's twin. "Finally, we can move on."

For one grieving family, there is finally some closure.

For another, there is no peace in sight.

True but only officially a few days ago.  Some still thought we were moments away from that one game against WVU.

USF (Leavitt, Judy, Selmon) were looking out for the program by trying to keep a boot on their neck because they knew if they were on equal footing there was a strong possibility of THIS happening.

F’n Judy…she was a piece of work. At this point I now support the rehiring of CJL, not because I really think he can help, but because of spite to McMurphy. Spite is a beautiful thing, perhaps the best of things and I would love the satisfaction I would get sticking it to that *******.

Hey NEB..will you send a resume in to USF for the Presidents job? You can use all of us for references. It would be like a combo of  Einstein meets Kesey meets Rockne...C'mon for your old alma mater..and the TBP gang. Turn this ship around...
