That makes sense, Academics has created quite the buzz.

When you are the only thing buzzing it’s pretty simple to be the loudest, maybe we intentionally tanked athletics in order to make our academic success appear magnitudes larger.

You're batting .500 tonight.  Definitely would be more enjoyable.

I will take that, however Athletics is so much more important to me.  Having some scientists waste state and federal grants on researching climate change or the mating habits of turtles doesn’t do it for me.

Will they keep moving the pre-eminent goal posts? I know little about it but I have read they the Florida  University Blue bloods will keep moving the goals to keep the status a VERY small club.

I expect they, and the regressive legislature filled with their alums, will do everything possible to keep it a very small club.

There's no doubt to me that USF consolidation was another attempt by them to get us to drop below the required metrics by including other campuses not as strong as Tampa.

Maybe the robots that they sent into destroyed buildings to search for people might interest you?

Different people are going to have very differing opinions on this.

Being the Sports nuts that we are on this board, of course we care about Athletics more than most.

But I bet if you survey the Alumni in general, the very vast majority would take a higher Academic ranking over a really good Football/Basketball program.  They would think excellent Sports is a nice to have, but graduating from a preiminent institution considered to be one of the best in the country, would feed their ego and pridefulness more than winning alot of football games.  IMO.

I personally want both, but life is not always fair.

If he's not impressed with researching climate change, the biggest threat to our civilization and the many species currently on earth I doubt anything will impress him.

You are going to make Covid sad if you keep talking like that
