I expect they, and the regressive legislature filled with their alums, will do everything possible to keep it a very small club.

There's no doubt to me that USF consolidation was another attempt by them to get us to drop below the required metrics by including other campuses not as strong as Tampa.

If he's not impressed with researching climate change, the biggest threat to our civilization and the many species currently on earth I doubt anything will impress him.

Different people are going to have very differing opinions on this.

Being the Sports nuts that we are on this board, of course we care about Athletics more than most.

But I bet if you survey the Alumni in general, the very vast majority would take a higher Academic ranking over a really good Football/Basketball program.  They would think excellent Sports is a nice to have, but graduating from a preiminent institution considered to be one of the best in the country, would feed their ego and pridefulness more than winning alot of football games.  IMO.

I personally want both, but life is not always fair.

That is a load of BS, I will let you in on a secret, the climate has always changed and always will.  Our efforts to change this are futile and wasteful and a ploy to redistribute income and secure power, nothing more and nothing less.
