I guess I am a novice but why wasn’t the ball on a 2 pt conversion put in the middle of the field and not on the left hash?

Ive had same question shouldn't the ball be in the middle of the field..dont they do that for extra points all the time or  have I just not noticed?

I found this online below...so did we choose to put the ball and run that play....ehhh

Conversion (or Convert)
After a touchdown, the team that scored attempts one scrimmage play from any point between the hash marks on or outside the opponents' 5-yard (4.6 m) line.

I would really like someone to press CJS on this decision, I know it is easy to Monday morning QB but this play never had a chance and we knew that when they lined up.  Would have been ok with even calling a second TO to bail out of this terrible play.

Agreed...I have no problem with a second TO. Indeed, there was little likelihood he had faith that the D would Temple. Take the second TO and get it right.

Or the QB did not know it was incorrect, or the QB did not know how to Audible out, or the QB was scared to call a third TO, or the line did a bad job of blocking, or....

I agree it’s clearly the fault of a 19 year old playing for free and making snap decisions and not the adults that are in charge, practiced the play over and over and called a timeout to pick the play and go over it.

Nice try but players do have responsibilities and last I checked he is getting a college scholarship along with meals and a stipend...hardly free....
