He has every right to go wherever he wants and we have every right to critique his decision.  From a strictly basketball decision it is a head scratcher because their program is garbage but we shall see.

What's kind of a head scratcher is how/why Howard would even go after him ....

Why would he go after Howard? They are awful?  I applaud him if he felt strongly about going to a HBCU, but pick a better freakin program, they won like 4 games last year.

I believe they are one of the top academic HBCU schools around (acceptance rate a few points better than USF...I don’t know what their rank is).  Howard and Morehouse are probably the most recognized. But if he plans on going pro soon then that obviously would not be a reason. Playing in DC will give him some exposure compared to a few other HBCU schools so that could play a role. But you are correct there are better HBCU basketball schools.

I like people that blaze new trails and take the road less traveled; I hope it works out.

They also had another 5 star recruit that took a visit there as well, forget the name but he signed somewhere else (Maybe Arizona)

Maker visited Howard last fall during the same month when five-star guard Josh Christopher took an official visit to the school. Christopher ultimately committed to Arizona State.
