As for Rutger's **** em

No meaningful success outside of one season at TCU where they got left out of the final 4. Most of the teams have wavered in the 6-6 range. Rutgers (and really Cuse) have been embarrassing. The owners of the P5 had no problem throwing some money to get a few more doormats into their conferences.

Whether it should have JUST been about football is probably a good debate. Yeah, i skimmed but it doesn't seem like it took into account the catholic schools of the big east that were fine with the exodus and used it to essentially leave 3 programs out in the cold (UCONN, USF, Cincinnati) and to an extent Temple and temporarily Louisville. And there's that whole "ND will never truly join a conference" thing too that could've played into some of it. Hell, I still blame Penn State for not joining the Big East in the 90s. WVU still being stuck on the east coast by their selves must suck to some extent. Hopefully they see it to add some big schools like USF and UCF when and if the time ever comes. Until then, USF is in good hands with MK that understands building USF strong across the board is what will position us the best.

Actually the BE did not invite PSU, they wanted to become a member but the Catholic schools did not want their basketball.
