Several people, including some on this board, said that the Angels had better pitching than the sox. They supposedly had this great bullpen... Escobar choked twice, K-Rod was teribble last night, yan was laughable during his appreance. Donnelly and shields were okay...

Then there were those that said they had better starting pitching. You, Mr. Bob said that Colon's absence wouldn't matter because Byrd was pitching so well. And remember how great everyone was saying Santana was after the Yankees series? And what about John Lackey?

Well, what I knew all along ended up showing itself: the white sox have by far the best rotation in baseball. If the White Sox lost any of the big 4 due to injury they would still be okay. Brandon Mcarthy, a rookie who was their 2nd best starter at the end of the season, isn't even on the playoff roster. You could even make the case that they could afford to lose two starters by taking El Duque out of the bullpen. I mean the White Sox pitching is freaking dominant. Their bullpen is really, really, good too- and well rested. You remember Mr. Jenks don't you Velcro? Their middle relief, if they ever get out of the bullpen, has been great all year. They have by far the best pitching personnel in the league-you have got to give Ken Williams a lot of credit.

Now let's talk offense. Can you finally admit that their offense was underrated? Look what they did to the Angels' pitching. They decimated them last night. The Angles threw everyone out there last night- even the Great K-Rod was embarrassed. Is anyone scoring more runs per game in the playoffs?

Houston has three good starters and a decent closer- but their pitching is not nearly as good, or will it be as well-rested as the White Sox. They just have more name recognition. They have really shut down St. Louis, but remember, the White Sox killed what was supposedly a high powered Angels' Offense- 2.23 ERA and .170 batting average.

Go Go White Sox.

The only advantage i see for the sox is rest.  That is it.

I am still rooting for the Sox, but i think it'll be Houston in 6.

Best of luck... i think you'll need it.  Pray that the H/StL series goes to 7.

Respect the White Sox. When are the people on this thread going to own up to their previous misguided predictions? Notice how this is playing out exactly how I said it would....

this will be at least a 6 game series... i still say houston, but am happy that Chicago won the first game.  WS have my respect, they kicked my teams ass all over the place, but they haven't won this series yet.... far from it.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
