i have a feeling you guys will resign him or he will go out west.

I did hear that the cubs are interested but they never seem to pay the big $$$ for the FA.

Damon is a great leadoff hitter but I would rather have Pierre as he is faster....younger...and the yanks have plenty of pop in the line-up they just need someone besides jeter to set the table sort of like when knob was leading off in front of jeter.

I like Pierre too, but the energy that Damon brings to the crowd is an important intangible.  Pierre is just one of those quiet players that plays good d, has speed, hits decent... but doesn't excel in any department.  I'd be happy with either one, but i hope we resign Damon.

I think trading ramirez would be a bigger mistake than not resigning Damon though.  I know his salary is huge, but i don't want Papi to set an all time record for intentional walks.

i agree damon has been great for you guys but he is now 31 and wants a 5 yr deal....what will he be like in 3-5 yrs?

i did hear some comment to the effect of no home team discounts for damon...

you guys have the $$$ and it would seem like a bad move not to re-sign him as he means so much to your team.

i'd take him for 5 years... he's been a huge part of our team and put his body on the line for us so many times...even if we were to only get 3 or 4 good years out of him, i'd still be happy.  We've actually got a farm system growing (finally).  I think we'll see Pedroia up next year, wish he was up this year to get some experience, instead of Gaffe-anino.  But anyone is better than Bellhorn.

Please answer this... Why did Torre pinch run with Bellhorn, instead of Womack?  He put Bellhorn on the lead pinch runner position, and Womack chasing him.   Bellhorn has very little speed... womack is much faster... was TW injured?

they were my nl pick to play and beat the Yanks in 7

they have 2 of our ex hurlers....that combined for 30 wins this season.

i think he went with bellhorn first because his run didn't matter as much as womacks which would have tied the game. I think he was hoping he could go first to home better than anyone on the team....

Ok, i buy that.  That is why Torre is the coach, and i'm not.

That and a million other reasons, including that I hate the yanks

I've been an Astro fan since the late 70's.  If they can somehow pull this off, three of my favorites will have championships in my lifetime, the Bucs, Bolts, and 'stros.
