I did hear that the cubs are interested but they never seem to pay the big $$$ for the FA.Damon is a great leadoff hitter but I would rather have Pierre as he is faster....younger...and the yanks have plenty of pop in the line-up they just need someone besides jeter to set the table sort of like when knob was leading off in front of jeter. Pierre is just one of those quiet players that plays good d, has speed, hits decent... but doesn't excel in any department. I'd be happy with either one, but i hope we resign Damon. I think trading ramirez would be a bigger mistake than not resigning Damon though. I know his salary is huge, but i don't want Papi to set an all time record for intentional walks. We've actually got a farm system growing (finally). I think we'll see Pedroia up next year, wish he was up this year to get some experience, instead of Gaffe-anino. But anyone is better than Bellhorn. Please answer this... Why did Torre pinch run with Bellhorn, instead of Womack? He put Bellhorn on the lead pinch runner position, and Womack chasing him. Bellhorn has very little speed... womack is much faster... was TW injured?

I think he was hoping he could go first to home better than anyone on the team....

If they can somehow pull this off, three of my favorites will have championships in my lifetime, the Bucs, Bolts, and 'stros.
