Stupid Question about a Common Post

I first remember seeing it in 07, Auburn or WVU? May go even further though, definitely dont remember who started it but for some reason I thought it was Eats It but that could just be because his username is in a similar format.

Here is the oldest I found although it may go back before that  ... This is from the prediction contest for the USF @ South Carolina game.

Didn’t we lose a lot of our older posts at some point but the post counts were maintained somehow? I vaguely remember some sort of data catastrophe and then a platform change, I want to say the board was down for many days.
