Won’t be the story for many of our next games. Excellent point. The kid will get his shots in these next games.

Final score doesnt look great considering Illinois is a BAD team. However must concede that we showed grit once again in the 4th quarter against a P5 team. And defense was terrific second half. illinois stinks p5 designation notwithstanding 12 hours ago, NewEnglandBull said: Ugh...special teams.... why are the players going to get smarter not so easy to fix those mistakes during the season

Strong failed at the game prep. But I’ll take the win. Really?

Not sure you want to put a 5-9 165 pound 18 year old out there to return punts. He would be an open target any time he does not fair catch- potential to get erased or a fumble is way more than the benefit of taking one to the house. Tyre can make people miss, and more importantly he is going to secure the ball and can take a hit.

You would do it so you could get touches for the fastest guy on the team when he's not getting them otherwise. The fact he CAN fair catch overrides all the hypotheticals you mentioned. Definitely need to give Horne some shots at PR, imo.

But the fact that he's run back 2 for TDs already--in ONE game--tells me to put him back there. He's the sports car, Tyre is a turbocharged bulldozer--both are excellent choices for different reasons.
