Well Illinois has an NFL kicker and nullified our star KR, so our KR game was a non factor today. Won’t be the story for many of our next games.

Excellent point. The kid will get his shots in these next games.

Just my opinion but the adjustments, fight, and BB taking over was beautiful to see

Da Bulls

lovie smith never opened his mouth the entire game

it was fun in the 4th qtr but pretty bad before than with the mental mistakes and dumb dumb penalties

no field goal kicker will kill us in later games

their back up qb couldnt carry the team for 4 qtrs

Watching that game felt like I was having a lobotomy.

Final score doesnt look great considering Illinois is a BAD team.

However must concede that we showed grit once again in the 4th quarter against a P5 team.

And defense was terrific second half.

illinois stinks p5 designation notwithstanding

The first half was the worst I’ve ever seen since the early WT days. Strong failed at the game prep. But I’ll take the win.

Really?

yeah, let's have a 250 lb. slot receiver returning punts over a state champ track runner.

i love Tyre, but he's not dragging defenders for 50 yards on a return.

Not sure you want to put a 5-9 165 pound 18 year old out there to return punts. He would be an open target any time he does not fair catch- potential to get erased or a fumble is way more than the benefit of taking one to the house.

Tyre can make people miss, and more importantly he is going to secure the ball and can take a hit.

You would do it so you could get touches for the fastest guy on the team when he's not getting them otherwise.  The fact he CAN fair catch overrides all the hypotheticals you mentioned.

Definitely need to give Horne some shots at PR, imo.

No one wants to see the young man get hurt, that's for sure. But the fact that he's run back 2 for TDs already--in ONE game--tells me to put him back there. He's the sports car, Tyre is a turbocharged bulldozer--both are excellent choices for different reasons.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
