Looks like he's keeping that pitch count down so far....looked to find it and not recorded, but here are full(er) stats and a link to follow Shane's progress:

Looks like they are easing him into it. Probably won't push him very hard with a only a few weeks left in their season.

how about the start that Coco and Villar have produced?

I've seen a lot on Coco, but not Villar... he's showing power, not unexpectedly.  Perez with some numbers.

Its pretty standard procedure

but they have been letting ML extend to 4 and 5 innings in his last two starts, but with the limited amount of time now, idk that that they try that with Shane. He may get a a couple extended starts before the end though.

It's not a knock on Shane, just an observation.

I know. He may stretch to 3 or 4 innings in his next appearance.  They're not overthrowing these guys coming off a college season.  Just working mechanics and adjustmnets

I haven't been paying a lot of attention, but what is Merrell doing back in Rookie ball? Rookie ball is where they send high schoolers, some of the college kids after the draft depending on how late they signed, and the international guys who get signed at 16.. He's literally hitting off of teenagers right now. Some of which have probably only thrown to a dozen or two batters that will ever play in college. Coco and Pete, I understand. Those guys are getting their feet wet in the world of professional baseball and learning the life along with baseball. Same for Shane. He just finished the college season and they want to get him under the eye of their coaching staff.

Edit: I looked up Merrell's stats and it looks like he got sent down? Injury?
