The field is set, but the final two spots will be determined once the England vs Belgium game ends.

So before Argentina and France kick off the knockout round tomorrow, here is the seeding:

One Side:

Uruguay vs Portugal

Argentina vs France

Brazil vs Mexico

Belgium vs Japan

The other side:

Spain vs Russia

Croatia vs Denmark

Sweden vs Switzerland

Colombia vs England

The top bracket seems more difficult. It has more previous cup winners, but neither bracket will be a walk in the park. Croatia vs Denmark looks like a really good game. Many think Croatia might be good enough to upset the Danes. Sweden vs Switzerland seems like another interesting pairing. I’m not sure Spain has the players to make too deep of a run, but think they will get by Russia. Also, Colombia could knock England out, I think.

I expect that France will beat Argentina. I don’t know how good Belgium’s defense is, but I do know they can score goals. I think they beat Japan.

The real tournament start now. Win or go home. The stakes are getting higher and games should only get better.

France better respond. This is the interesting part. So of these teams haven’t  faced adversity at this level. How will they respond?

Mbappe. Best play of a young attacking midfielder I have ever seen.

France is a scary team. They really played well when it counted.

The run where he drew the pk at the end of it was borderline superhuman ....

France vs Uruguay is the first quarterfinal match that has been set. Have to think France seems to be a pretty good spot. Uruguay doesn’t look like they can run with France.

Tomorrow Spain vs Russia, & Croatia vs Denmark. The second game seems to be the more entertaining match on paper.

Russia survived a game that I didn’t think they would win. Spain is going home. Has to suck to lose on pks. Now the main event of the day will start in less than an hour. Should be another good one
