I'm questioning Billy's moves over the last week or so.  He could have reset his rotation with a week off.  Could have started Pete on Friday night vs Wichita and then he could have started tonight.  If you're not going to pitch Shane in this series, why not do that?  Instead we lose a pretty big game and now we have to scramble to get a win in this series.  I think we have to have Shane pitch tomorrow now.  Nothing is guaranteed.  If we get swept by UC, we fall to 6th in the league or worse.  That is not an NCAA Tournament team finishing that low in this conference

I'm not sure why you don't roll the dice tonight with PS and SM and try to win this one.  Maybe he is doing that tomorrow and figured winning game 2 was more of a sure thing.  Or maybe there's an injury or discipline involved.  The only other thing I could see, is concern over the weather and starting SM or PS tonight and then losing them if the game was stopped for rain.

I can understand resting SM this series, I don't know why you don't pitch PS tonight though. He could have gone tonight and been ready for game two of the tourney.

I think we've given up on the regular season now, as it really doesn't matter whether we win or lose the last 2. We'll still be #3 in the AAC series

Strategy now is to take it as far as we can thru the post-season

(At least I hope so, since nothing else makes sense)

Cincinnati it only a half game back of us. Losing two today would put us in 4th with the door open for UCF to out us in 5th (1GB), nothing is locked for us. Especially if we are resting SM and PS.

Losing 2 today would put USF in 5th with UCF looking to put us in 6th.
