You saw it? I saw some reports saying this and some others saying they confirmed it wasn't true? Hard to know until the wind lets up.

No, I haven't seen it but I'm a part of a bunch of storm chasing teams with people who are on the ground and also going there tomorrow for disaster relief.  I've been in service all day today providing radar support for people out in the field.

So I just asked about and there are parts of the school that are demolished and the roof is torn apart.

This is turning out to be one of the worst disasters in US history rivaling Hurricane Katrina. Areas of Texas will get up to 50 inches of rain. No joke. Turn on the weather channel.

This is already worse than Katrina. And not even halfway through the projected rains.

Houston will be Atlantis.

Agree it could be worse. 50 inches of rain in a low lying flood prone area. 25 more inches of rain to go.

Not a good situation here. We are safe thankfully.

Yeah, this is one of those situations. I can tell you the storm chasing community that I'm with is currently doing S&R through out the night around I-45. The thing that is really annoying for us is continuous on and off tornado warnings which is not helping with S&R.

This photo was about a mile from my apartment. White oak bayou with i-10 in the background. There's a bike trail way down there. Usually about 30 feet lower. Included a non flooded photo looking at that bridge
