You guys lost to Army.

We lost to Buffalo.

This game will bring in money in both stadiums so I think that will "help" the programs more than say a home win against Rutgers or Memphis, which may have a higher RPI than UCF or USF....unless of course - that game decided the conference champion.  But you get the point.

Although pointing out those 2 losses puts things in perspective, its also rubbing salt in wounds.  I still shudder when I think of it.

Sorry - my point was just that our programs survived a loss that is worse than UCF or USF would hand the other next season.

Losses to Buffallo and Army are different.  We aren't competing with them for recruits.  A win/loss woul impact recruiting for the following off-season.

It wont hurt either school... there are way more good reasons to play than not to play... both schools need butts in the seats ... this game will help with that..

Not really. Many kids are still going to want to play for a BCS school. One loss or bad performance wouldn't change that.

UCF has a different recruiting emphasis. The are building a MAC style team that wants to wear you down in the 4th quarter, whereas USF wants to beat you with athletic ability. If the game continues past it's first two years and both programs continue to improve it will be an interesting clash of styles.

A lose to UCF would be on par with the surrender of the German Army at Stalingrad

It would be a bad lose for USF.  i don't know if the UCF losing streak will still be intact but if it is it would be very bad for USF.  That is the kind of thing that would make ESPN and not what you would want to see.  I think the casual fan would see it as" USF may be in a BCS conference but is really nothing more" and would say to them that they are closer to the rest in Florida rather then a team on the way up looking to make it the "Big Four" in Florida.  To me it would be a very disturburing lose.
