Should we approach Georgia to fill the hole in both of our schedules?

We have a home and away opening (given that Miami comes to RayJay that year).   It would be nice to swing a home and home with them, with them returning in 2007.  Miami fits the 'marquee' home game nicely next year.

2006 Schedule

Sept. 2  Fla. International

Sept. 16 at UCF

Sept. 23 at North Carolina

Home (dates TBD)

Miami, FL (pending)

Connecticut

Pittsburgh

Rutgers

Syracuse

Away (dates TBD)

at Cincinnati

at Louisville

at West Virginia

Other then getting spanked why would UCF want to buy out of that game?

I thought the buyout was more like $100K.  Still, not much of a buyout.

A game against NCSU would be interesting, as well.

I hate to bring this up on the Main board, but here's a factor to consider...

The feasability plan for UCF's new stadium is based on 6 home games a year, every year.

Too late...

Georgia Adds Colorado, UAB To 2006 Football Schedule

Bulldogs Travel to Boulder in 2010.

May 31, 2005

ATHENS --- The University of Georgia has added both Colorado and UAB to its home football schedule for 2006 according to an announcement by UGA Director of Athletics Damon Evans. Evans said a signed contract has been executed with UAB, while an agreement in principle has been reached with Colorado.

UAB will play in Sanford Stadium on Sept. 16 while Colorado will come to Athens the following weekend, Sept. 23. In return, Georgia will travel to Boulder, Colo., on Oct. 2, 2010.

"I think these are two fine opponents added to our schedule," said Evans. "UAB's program has been building and they played in a bowl game last year. Of course, Colorado has one of the great college football traditions in one of the country's top conferences, the Big 12. We think both these games in Athens and the one in Boulder will be very attractive to our fans."

The Colorado series was made possible by the addition of the 12th regular-season game as part of recent NCAA legislation.

personally I m glad the AD is clearing this stuff up... even with all the games we had scheduled years ahead... before joining the MAC we often had to scramble for games real late... often the summer before the season started.

No scheduling is NOT difficult if you are willing to sign AWAY games with NO return games.

I guess you are still not happy with Woolard's scheduling so far?

UM 1-1

North Carolina 1-1

FIU 2-1

FAMU 1-0
