Rough end to the 1st round for our Bulls after a strong start in the round. As a team they were -2 heading to the back nine, closing out the round at +11.

Now at +13.

Reminds me of the late round collapses we had earlier in the year.

DiMarco has now bogeyed 6 straight holes.

Make that 7!

USF ends up +14!

We needed at least one player to right the ship, somewhat, but didn't even get that.

Now, 10 shots out of fifth place.

A team can make up a lot of ground in one round.

The next round will say a great deal about this team.

I'm sure the USF Men's Golf coach will make his displeasure known to the team.

He doesn't mince words. LOL

Quotables

Head coach Steve Bradley on the team's opening round:

“We played pretty well on the front and we did not play nearly as well on the back. It just looked like we had a combination of some poor execution maybe with some frustration and some adversity out there. We just didn't handle ourselves very well, which is unfortunate to see, but we did play solid on the front. If there are any positives, we're 10 shots out of the number right now and we've got 36 holes to play, so we've got a lot of golf to play.”

Bradley's thoughts on USF's ability to bounce back in the next two days of competition:

“There's no doubt in my mind and we're trying to impress upon them there should be no doubt in their mind that they can get it done. They've played pretty solid, they have the ability to do it. Today is going to be about trying to go back out on the range and kind of fixing what maybe went a little wrong out there. We'll work on our putting a little bit and then have a clean slate tomorrow morning. Hopefully we'll get a good dinner tonight, a good night of sleep and come out tomorrow morning and give it our best shot.”

Bradley on Claudio Correa's team-leading performance:

“He played pretty solid. I know he made a bunch of birdies, but unfortunately made a couple doubles. His good is good and usually if he gets it going in the right direction good things happen for the entire team. I'm certainly happy with his better performance. We need everybody to step up and I think we'll be alright these next couple days.”

The back nine continues to give the Bulls problems. With most of our guys through holes 14-16 so far, there has been 1 Eagle, 1 Birdie, 7 Bogies, 1 Double, 1 Triple, and 1 +6. Giving the Bulls an ugly +10 for the day in the early goings.
