TAMPA, DEC. 18, 2016 – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team will play in the inaugural Play4Kay Tournament in Las Vegas this week. The three-day event will take place at the brand-new T-Mobile Arena.

USF (8-0) looks to extend its win streak to nine straight games, and set a new best season start in program history. The Bulls are fresh off a 129-point performance Wednesday against Saint Francis U. USF shot a season high 65.8 percent from the floor, converting 48 of 73 attempts. The 48 field goals made ties the USF single game record. Seven Bulls scored in double figures led by junior Maria Jespersen (Arhus, Denmark). Jespersen played 27 minutes and collected 24 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.

Sophomore Kitija Laksa (Riga, Latvia) continues to lead the country with 4.25 three-point field goals per game. As a team, the Bulls average 10.3 three-pointers per game, which ranks fifth in Division I.

If anyone is wondering, USF would play the winner of undefeated Oklahoma State vs Santa Clara tomorrow at 5:30 PM assuming USF beats LBSU. We've had two common opponents - Georgia and Arkansas State. I would make the assumption OSU would be a slight favorite in a game versus USF. We've both had impressive wins versus these common opponents, however OSU obliterated ASU at home where USF took out ASU on the road. Need to win today first though. The game is on the net for anyone trying to break up the afternoon with a little Bulls action...

Been difficult to catch any of these games as I live very far from Tampa.  It's nice to see there will finally be a game available online, for free.

Bulls up 36-33 at the half. LBSU's defense can be very stifling.

Man, it's hard to watch when you're team's being pressed and hasn't adjusted to break the press.

Watching LBSU is like watching a Shaka Smart team, joyful if it's yours, painful if you're a fan of the opponent. REALLY tough D

Bulls down 55-50 at the end of 3

Absolutely HORRIFIC officiating. Three egregiously bad calls in the last minutes of the game costs the Bulls the game 73-68

Even so, we had a chance to tie with a few second remaining as we missed a trey down by three.

Bulls get OKSU-Santa Clara loser tomorrow at 12:30 PST

If you want to stop the Bulls don't let them run.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
