Didn't a lot of players claim they would boycott playing if he was fired? Having to sit a year and obviously being a long distance between the schools makes the chances slim imo. It's not like the usual, coach leaving his players high and dry. I think this usually applies to intra-conference transfers or transfers to rival programs. I don't think Texas would block any transfers to USF. Especially if they are an upper class man.
