Some posts yesterday in the game thread that we should have gone for 2 when we got to 41-34 to make it a 2 possession game. I did not agree with that as being up 8 forces the other team to make at least 2 good plays as opposed to one.

Seattle had just exactly that situation against New England and failed the two point conversion. I get the strategy but wide open to second guessing.

I hate leaving points on the field. Especially if kicking the XP puts you up by two scores.

This chart was developed by **** Vermeil at UCLA. Not sure how well this will show up, but when you're up 7, you go for 1.

For modern college, because of the way OT is now, I disagree with the "down 1, go for 2" advice. Not everybody agrees with everything here.

Until Emilio gets back, I think we should pull a Mike Tomlin and go for 2 after every td ...

While I may have exaggerated a wee bit about emulating Tomlin, don't tell me you didn't hold your breath every time we lined up for a XP ...

Not necessarily, however I was really sweating it coming down to a FG.

Yeah without a doubt you kick...we can't stop their offense and kept leverage by kicking the extra point

You kick the extra point and hope they do something foolish like forgetting they could run the ball when inside the 5 with a time out.....

Wonder if coach ever addressed that .... Only thing I can figure is that he maybe thought we assumed he would run one of those times ... but don't remember if all 3 of the passes were play action, though.
