in penalty kicks vs Cincinnati in the opening round of the AAC Tourney.  Also, UCF lost in similar fashion earlier.  Pretty good day.

For those that follow soccer, what do they need to do to make it to the NCAAs?

The championship provides for a field of 64 teams. Thirty-one conference champions qualify automatically; the balance of the field is selected at-large by the NCAA Division 1 Women’s Soccer Committee.  So, we would be included if we win the AAC tournament.  I feel pretty good that we'd get an at-large bid if that doesn't happen.

They need to win the AAC Tourney from what the broadcasters said tonight.  Bad news is they play host UConn on Friday.

If memory serves, our WSOC lost in similar fashion to Cinci last season. That's payback for the Bearcats.

It will be close. If they lose in the Championship game, they might sneak in. Right now they are 59th in RPI and the AAC is a pretty good conference overall with teams ranked 15, 23, 33, 53, 59, 77. UCF was #53, but probably is out with yesterday's loss. The problem is that they don't have any good wins. They lost or tied the top teams in conference and had a gaudy record OOC, but against really inferior competition.
