The team is actually still putting up a fight, they get out-hustled in the process, but still putting up a fight nonetheless. Yeah, I think COA's comment was more an overall season commentary rather than game specific ...

I have watched almost every game and we have been in most of them until the under 5 minutes of the second half. UCF had a good sized lead and we came back. The turnovers..gawd the turnovers. I mean watching the bad inbound passes. Watching players dribble it off their foot, with the closest defender 5 feet away, and the ball going out of bounds. We should be getting killed by 20 every game and that is not happening. That being said, I have no idea how to fix the turnovers, it's maddening. P.S. Heath seems to be a good TV game caller. I haven't seen this same attitude out of this team, but it could very well be our worst team ever (due to ineligibility, injury. etc.). Sitting there watching the game last night, I about came to the same conclusion, based almost entirely on the guard situation. Trying to think back to a worse situation and closest I could come was Mac's first BE year with walk-on Capko running the point .... but even then they had James Holmes at 2 and spelling CC at point, if memory serves me correctly. Fixing the turnovers....get a true point guard, stop standing still, and tossing stale passes would be a start. The way we hold a ball reminds me of Melo when he gets the ball, the offense just stops. Which is unfair, because there is a lot of ball reversal, but no one is athletic enough to turn the corner on a defender and crash the hoop (save for Z but it's his only move). Then again maybe they are fast enough to get around the defender, but they can't afford to expel that much energy because when they get tired there are limited bench options. I would like to think next year is going to be better in theory because he should have the bodies, but it is going to be such a different team next year who knows? Angel, Morillo and Cousins are gone. One has to think Baxter is going to hit the floor in Angels place. JMM or Peters will be shifting over to the two allowing for Thorpe and Feliz to run point. With Cousins gone we will see Guerrero eat up that playing time unless COA is VERY impressed by either Tulio or Manderson. Holston wil get good minutes but I can't imagine him starting next year. It would be best for him to gradually get back into it. That's already 5 new players into this years rotation. Progression would be hard to come by from anyone. These guys are not very tough, don't get on the floor after loose balls, can't or forget who to box out, and the turnovers are the most consistent stat. Gotta love watching some Izzo Rebounding War Drill.
