Fortunately we don't need Flowers to be an NFL QB...we just need him to be the best college QB he can be, and help us win. This guy matures more daily, and has a knack for feeling pressure, and avoiding it.

Exactly- he's getting better and his running makes him a weapon where he can freeze LB's/DB's by himself without having to use play action. You start drawing defenses in, and suddenly the WR's get wide open. Some teams have dared him to throw (I would have) but he's made them pay lately, so right now it's more of a "pick your poison" choice for opposing D Coordinators.

His progression has been a HUGE reason for this team's rise- that and Allen getting this defense back closer to where it was in the Leavitt days.

Great win for USF!  Of course, UCF poser fans think of USF as being mediocre and the Bulls have a long way to go to match the Knights success.  Of all of the Bulls rivals over the years, I have to say that UCF has the whiniest, most delusional fans I have ever seen.  Automatic invite to the big 12.. right Knights fans?

Those are very rare exceptions to the rule, and guys with better throwing arms than QF, and much better vision. I'm not knocking QF, but he's not Wilson or Brees- he's a completely different kind of player. Brees was a pure pocket guy and Wilson was/is mobile but still primarily a pocket QB (and you are dead on about NC ST giving him the boot so they could play their prized recruit Glennon- it's NEVER worked forcing a QB out in favor of him I'd say)

Flowers is more the mobile QB who uses that mobility and threat to run to help him in the passing game. But make the guy drop back 30 times, stay in the pocket and go thru his progressions and he's in trouble. And again, NOT a knock on QF- he is who he is, and in college that can make for a very good QB, but it doesn't translate to the NFL. QB's with much better arms with the "mobile" playing style have still struggled in the pros (RG3 and Kap for example)

I think Marcus Mariota is exploding the myth of the 'pocket QB' being an elusive skill. As for exceptions to the rule: see Mariota, and watch how the league continues to evolve out of the mindset that you must be a pocket QB in college to succeed in the NFL. Anyway, he's a sophomore. If he continues his development (I mean, maybe this is his 'best' now), I really think could be drafted as a QB. Not saying he'll be a starter, but yeah, he's a dual threat. And he entered this coil humbled from the get-go. Kaep and RG3 are examples of guys who are the epitome of 'born on 3rd, thinking they hit triples'. I just don't see that in Flowers..Not in how he entered life, and how he's literally taken over the leadership role.

At any rate, this kid's FUN to watch.

I gotta say that the UCF fans that set next to me were very nice. I mean, they were completely broken and defeated human beings, but they were hospitable.

Saw this on Facebook.

Q: How many UCF Knights does it take to change a tire?

A: One, unless it's a blowout, in which case they all show up.

Oh that's priceless. Bravo.

These guys suck.  They are not even talking about football now.

Probably need to cut them a little slack. This is the second week in a row they've been forced to go to the BHNFP to watch ESPN's chosen one get obliterated by a total of 88-10 ...
