Nah, it's all part of the celebration. These kids will surely have been brought up to respect how to handle a gun, so a mishap is super-unlikely.

I know many people who have been carrying for years and the gun has managed to never shoot anyone. Many more people die from the misuse of automobiles, but no one is in a hurry to ban or limit their use

I bet the number of people killed in plane crashes is significantly higher amongst those who travel by plane, too. What's your point?
