Upon seeing the highlight again and watching it as best I could, I could not definitively say that the ball touched the ground. It was definitely close, but I think he might have avoided contact with the ground. That would explain why it was a non-issue. Although, I do think that the coaching staff for FAMU wasn't clear on the rule either, as that most likely was the reason they called the timeout and delayed everything following the touchdown pass. Flowers used his hand and the ball but no other part of his body made contact. Flowers came close to touching with his knee but caught himself. Play was a thing of beauty.
