  1. I'd like to think Skip knows this already. I'd like to think Skip has been been digging into this year's numbers looking for answers. I'd like to think that...
  2. He is very close to the football program. Travels with team, IS at practices, is in the locker rooms after the games (this is from a conversation with him). I believe he genuinely believes we are one last piece of the puzzle away from being a winning team. He is right... look at the other thread stating what our record WOULD be had we been able to get our **** together in the fourth quarter. The difference between his view and ours is that we don't believe Skip knows were to look for that last piece and even if he found it, he wouldn't utilize it properly, while Bill believes we CAN find it and it WILL work. He has an excellent view of the football team but from my conversation with him, he is too optimistic for my taste and too far from the reality that this team needs major help. That being said, I trust him. I believe he genuinely has a passion for USF football and wants to see a winning team. EDIT: I would also like to say I am a bit bothered that 2.5 seasons into having Skip here, after a foundation of a winning team, NOW we are ALMOST there. We should have been there in 2011 after beating Clemson in the bowl game.
  3. Good idea, but then it's a disincentive to actually buy tickets to the women's game. I think this would be a good idea to announce maybe a day before the game, after all the people who are willing to buy tickets do so, OR on an as-requested basis.
  4. I took this a step further. I got a list of all 124 FBS coaches. Filters applied: making <1.5m, more than a 55% winning record, and have been with the school from 2-10 years Records.pdf
  5. Agreed. The numbers add up. Here are selected coaches, salaries, and win % at current school, that we could give RAISES too and SAVE MONEY David Shaw - Stanford - $1m - 81% Tom O'Brien - NC State - $1.3m - 53.5% Art Briles - Baylor - $1.3m - 49% Paul Rhodes - Iowa State - $1.15m - 50% Bronco Mendenhall - BYU - $0.85m - 71% Gus Malzahn - Ark. State - $0.8m - 62.5% Pat Fitz - NW - $0.8m - 55% Mike Riley - Oregon State - $1.5m - 55% Sonny Dykes - $0.4m - 62.5% The list goes on.
  6. Or at the very least... DO SOMETHING. Last week: We can't stick with the status quo. This week: Status quo officially stuck to. WTF
  7. I hear it's basically a wash given that we save money on what we'd normally spend at home. I'm with Ghost
  8. https://twitter.com/gregauman/status/263642717588951041/photo/1 MELTDOWN U is the cover of today's sports section in the Times. I am clipping this out and mailing this, along with a nice memo, to the athletic office today. Just in case they subscribe to the Trib.
  9. "i just cant explain this one. This on the job training is hard"
  10. Our next win will be mcneese state in august 2013. Enjoy it cause we go to michigan state the following week.
  11. BJ on now. I feel for this guy. He may not be an elite qb but he plays his ass off and deserves better.
  12. Holtz just mentioned, as a "change", putting Cosh "on the field". Wow! Huge!!@
  13. Just blamed meltdown on players. Specifically their confidence. **** that
  14. For me: $135 - end zone season tix $5 x 6 = $30 - Parking in north lot split an average of 3 ways $60 - Six 12 packs $60 - Food for six home games (tailgating) $285 on the season. Is it worth it? Hell yes. For those who love USF football (hell, football in general), there is nothing like seeing the bodies in front of you, yelling at Skip, etc
  15. Has anyone addressed who would coach the defense if Cosh is fired?
  16. That is simply not our pitch, and at the end of the day, none of that matters. Look at the classes Charlie Strong was able to bring to UL, a bottom-feeder in a school known for basketball. I'm not a recruiter, I don't know how he did it, but he brought in some amazing commits.
  17. 1. The only way possible I am NOT a season ticket holder is if I am physically unable to attend. If you want big things for this university, you have to realize attendance matters. For the players, for the advertisers, for the conference, etc. Scale back your investment, sure, but put a body in a seat (or standing!). 2. One of the most painful things about this season is the avoidable nature of these losses. We have not been blown out. We have been papercut to death. There is low hanging fruit in firing Cosh, and we do nothing. It's appalling.
  18. the ONLY reason I am not on board with this is because it may turn off recruits. That being said, I'm all on board with people communicating their feelings/passion about this team. I'd rather you be there with a bag than be apathetic.
  19. Wow... How can Holtz sleep at night with those numbers and with no changes. Unreal.
  20. Its one thing to do the wrong thing, its perplexing to say the wrong thing on top of it all. Holtz, you are the ultimate leader of this team. This is not their problem, its your problem. Ill go as far as to say good for them for having the balls to show a little passion and be sick of the losses, unlike "coach" Holtz.
  21. the conference opponents we have played thus far have a combined record of 12-3. Even taking out the wins against us, that's a 9-3 record. The three teams we have left to play - Cincy, UConn, Pitt - have a combined record of 2-7. Can we take comfort in the fact that we've played the best of the Big East? Can we look at the record of the remaining teams and have hope that we can indeed beat these teams?
