  1. This! If we lose from fluke plays or just being over-powered, I can swallow that. The head-shaking begins when it seems like a simple lack of being "all in". Leach is doing this, and has used stronger language. All Skip is saying, literally, is that he is rewarding effort and productivity, and not just number of years played. I'm in, Coach.
  2. This story is awesome. Winning is nice, but having a nice program is even nicer, and this is an example of a program that is demonstrating it cares.
  3. who's got two thumbs and is wearing a costume to this game?
  4. say hi to the Louisville cheerleaders for me... NOT LOOLLL
  5. Prepare your livers and your blood pressure for my arrival. That's right, the once-in-a-lifetime event of me not being here in Tampa to drink while yelling at USF through the TV, and instead, being in Atlanta to yell north-bound toward Louisville, is upon us. Word on the street is the Atlanta bulls meet at Pub 71 on Peachtree Rd (free peaches?). Now, I know GT has a game that day at 3. Will there be a mass of yellow jackets at the bars cockblocking the USF game? Should I expect a herd of stampeding half drunk bulls at said Pub? Can we all cry into each others' arms if we lose? Can we go to Cheetah if we win? Who's with me?
  6. i got some dollas on USF this weekend. im delusional. help.
  7. I'm really happy about the SMU addition. Prob best academics in Big East and a football program that reminds me of ours... seems to have a tremendous ceiling.
  8. I wouldn't wave good-bye too hard. Not just yet anyway. You didn't bother reading the whole thing, did you? I think it's a given that Skip gets the rest of the year... That being said, I doubt the BOT lets DW give him another year if he doesn't win 2 more games this season. Not sure if either of you have ever had the opportunity to work with Ramil before but he doesn't have a reputation for working with failure very long. In no way am I saying that we should be going to BCS games every season or anything like that... but this program had a talented team when Skip got here 3 years ago... he hasn't been able to consistently recruit and it's now showing.... there is no reason there should have been a fall off to the point we're at. Well said, and I'm thankful we have a guy like Ramil with us
  9. we are in great hands. stop calling for skips job. ramil and woolard clearly make better athletic professionals than a message board. who are we to think we know better? they see whats going on behind the scenes. sincerely, a patient fan
  10. endowment is 3x bigger than UCF. we sell more tickets our non football sports have more success. Most valuable schools in BE are 1a. UL 1b. RU 2. UCONN CINCY USF
  11. you have to earn a letter. sounds like coach heath did nothing wrong. if this was a diss, it would be another story
  12. http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/content/holtz-ready-shake-bulls-depth-chart "We're going to let them dictate who's going to play and who's not, by their productivity and their effort. Some things are going to change, because from what I've seen in the last three days, there are some guys that deserve the right to play, guys that are hungry, that really want to be on that field. They've shown that in the last three days."
  13. Apparently Bridgewater has 10 rushing yards this year. Where does this "dual threat" talk come from?
  14. Offensive: Hard to say it's not BJ. Accounting for 2td+ per game, 300yds/game, and battling protection on occassion Davis also has solid #'s but I did NOT like the effort in the Temple game. Defense: ?
  15. didn't we open an entire offensive series against ball state by running? I thought we ought to be opening up the play book more. There are several offensive series I liked in the FSU game. I think stick with the run, and I like the Popek move. Run tough, keep the clock rolling Open the play book up to look more like the FSU game, meaning sweeps, more TE/short yard/over-the-middle throws, and 3-4 deep route plays a game I like the defensive suggestions above - i'm a little stumped by that side of the ball.
  16. I am praying that this does not turn into a thread about the coaching staff. Not sure how long that can last but here we go... Coach says depth chart changes may be coming. I'm looking at the roster and can't put my finger on who exactly, but I've got to think some of those changes will come in the defensive backfield. But who? Baker, Joyce, Jenkins, Lejiste, Webster? The problem isn't only the mid throw but also rushing yards; we're giving up I think 170 per game? Is that on the LB squad? Our front 7 has shown we can get TFL and we seem to have improved there the last 2 games. What do we need to do to win this Louisville football game? I'm tired of ******** about the coaching staff. I think we are all preaching to the choir at this point. Can we refocus on the UL game and what we need to do to win?
  17. I'm glad my university president isn't glued to her screen ready to personally address our football concerns. I know she cares deeply, but I hope her priorities are a little different. If anything I presume an assistant aggregates these emails and summarizes them for her, maybe?
  18. They do? Aren't they all AAU institutions? You are thinking of the Big Ten (all except Neb) In the SEC, some are. Vandy is there, Florida is AAU. I'm not saying we need to compete with them on their academics anyway, I'm saying I don't want to have an SEC-type mentality (or reputation) that says to hell with graduation and APR scores. EDIT: Do you want this representing your school? I dont
  19. Me. Life is more important than football. Not to mention the SEC has a reputation of below-average academics as well as off-the-field arrests. And if that's not enough, look at Stanford, Notre Dame, USC, etc; you can have very high academic standards and still win at a high level. I'm not saying we need to be NC contenders and have Ivy standards. But, 100% of the time I will trade a few wins for players who graduate and represent the university well.
  20. I never indicated I was ok with the regression. I also conceded that there were some tactical errors made (Cosh?). What I did say was that I still have some faith in what he is trying to build. I am still in. Yes, this blows, but I am willing to accept some temporary pain and forgive some tactical errors if it means we have a clean program that is being built the right way for long-term success.
  21. The ****** play sucks, but I believe Skip is 100% correct. We are 2.5 years into the second-coach-ever's era of a 15-year-old football program. I don't think a rah-rah coach who can pull off an upset or two is ideal. I want a coach who wants to patiently construct a well-rounded program for long-term success. I think he hears our voice. I'm giving him a chance to right the ship. He has made a few tactical errors, sure, but I'm still in. http://www.tampabay.com/sports/college/usf-bulls-bringing-up-rear-in-big-east-football/1255678
  22. Our players are getting called out by media and announcers for looking flat. Playing to the opponent or to the crowd has been a common problem at USF for a while now. I totally disagree that some aren't giving 100%. I'm not saying benching all seniors is the right move, but I admire Leach for holding players accountable and expecting maximum effort, regardless of class. You have to agree that some are not giving 100% Thats what I meant to say. Sorry about the double negative
  23. Someone who runs a clean program. Who has a track record of building teams up to conference-winning competitiveness.Someone who wants and chooses to be at USF.
