    Lots of criticism in this thread, few proposals for any alternative, naturally formed, football-history-related traditions. Ole Miss yells "hotty toddy" at games. At Oregon, a duck rides into the stadium on a motorcycle. We are not the first program to do something stupid at games. I get the point that it's silly, but until the nay-sayers have anything else that would even come close to what the war flamingo represents, I'm bringing mine to games. And if you don't like it, don't bring one, but kill it just because it's corny? that's not what cfb is about.

    it means absolutely nothing has changed, the new commissioner sees us as entitled and has no idea that we are falling behind, and therefore proposes further steps back in competition by adding middling teams.

    man s&c is so huge and often underrated. so key given the way we responded in the 4th quarter last year in some games. you need to be stronger, faster, and last longer than the other guy.

    we would be 100 times better off if these efforts were put into the CAUSES of traditions, rather than the traditions themselves. Namely, alumni and student engagement, ticket and gear sales, etc

    Responsible for all college programming on CBS, essentially. That is huge in terms of what we need now. I just hope in the long run he can manage the athletic aspect well (raise level of competition, keep us relevant)
